The Cultural Center of the Philippines has been implementing the Arts Therapy Program as part of its commitment to make the arts matter to different sectors of the community. This program is commonly carried out to provide a week-long arts and culture training for public school teachers, students, parents and the local communities to experience and use the arts for RELEASE, REFLECTION, and REDIRECTION brought on by natural disaster, calamities and prolonged armed conflict. The module is contextualized within the participants’ cultural framework. Art forms being utilized are Theater Arts, Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Literary Arts and Media Arts.
The CCP Arts Education team continued its commitment to Yolanda survivors, through the Sining Galing Arts Therapy activities for public school teachers of Basey and Marabut, Samar and Tacloban, Leyte on April 3-5 and April 7-10. The team that will facilitate Sining Galing are Dr. Luis Gatmaitan, Tracey Santiago, Philip Mabunga, Abner Delina Jr., Eyna Villar, Ronnie Mirabuena, and Eva Mari Salvador.
