Initially expressing his fascination with rhythm as a child through drums, he began formal piano training rather late, under his first teacher, Prof. Godofredo Areza. He was accepted as a full scholar at the Philippine High School for the Arts at the National Arts Centre, under the guidance of Prof. Josue Greg Zuniega and Prof. Anthony Say. He has participated in numerous local and international competitions and performances. He is currently a first year undergraduate at the Royal Academy of Music, London, under the tutelage of Joanna MacGregor.
